Est. 1988 — Bras Basah Complex, Singapore
Second-hand books, bought and sold at the ground-floor corner of Singapore's Book City — where every book gets an additional chance in life.
Our humble beginnings date back to 1988, at the ground-floor corner of Bras Basah Complex — known to locals as the Book City. We started out selling and renting both English and Chinese books; the journey since has made us something rarer: a second-hand specialist.
The idea of good books being discarded and scrapped spurred us to take that extra step toward a more sustainable future. It isn't easy work — but the look on a patron's face when they find exactly what they were hunting for makes it worth it.
We were part of many a Singaporean's childhood. Now we're part of their children's too.
"Ever new" — because a book, however old, is forever new to the reader who hasn't met it yet.
与地球共生息 — Living in step with the Earth
Stock rotates weekly — the best finds never sit long.
Every second-hand book bought is one less book scrapped. Buy-in rates are modest — we recommend selling when you're already in the area — but donation and recycling are always welcome.
